Sonnet- Tea Ceremony

On one hot humid summer day
the sun is burning down on me
I stare outside the window blankly
doing nothing, maybe thinking of some fay
Sitting upright with a leg, under another it lay
Sitting upright with Obi strangled tightly
strangled around a Kimono so costly
Just lazing, with nothing to say

I step in the room with my small penguin steps
hoping to cool myself, both inside and out
I follow my heart, in ways for the steps to connects
Every aspect in my brain, washed out
Concentrating, so I make no regrets
So I listen to the precious sounds made throughout.

MYP Criteria Reflection

During semester one, I would say my grades were neither outstandingly excellent, nor poorly defective. It is an accessible grade, without much of an effort, and there are definitely rooms for improvements.
In Criterion A, C, and D, I think that I have the same problem overall. The scores I received throughout the semester, has been around in the same area. None are exclusively better than others, and on the other hand, none are extremely bad. That means that I do have a good overall understanding on what we are learning, but I do not take it to the next level, and expand my thoughts. My tendency is to write minimally, and not to go in depth with my ideas. Another thing I tend to do a lot during my written assessments during social studies is that I do not go over my answers to check if I have answered to the full extent of what the question is asking. I know that is a bad habit, and I should revise and read over my answer, including the question to see if I have answered the question correctly, but since I take majority of the class time taking the test, I do not have time to go over what I have written. I think that is an area I could improve on. As I get used to taking these tests with time limits, I hope to learn somehow to incorporate time for completing the test, as well as revising.
Since we only had one assessment, which was graded on Criterion B for our concepts, I do not have a way of comparing, but the one I have, I think that I could have done a better job. Reviewing with friends, or by myself before the change over time exam would have helped me understand more.
Overall, I can conclude that there are a lot of rooms for improvements to be made. With more effort and managing my time well, I could do a whole lot better. Not only managing my time well during the test would help, but managing my time before the test in reviewing and studying would also help me a whole bunch. And I learned that talking with teachers and friends help a great deal for a deeper understanding and to interpret in your own way.
